NEW SOUTH WALES: Kerry & Co wide-ranging group with "Aboriginal Fight", Corroborees x5, "Aboriginal Medicine Men", "Aboriginal Piccaninnies" (10 children), "Group of Gins" (10 women + children), "Aboriginal Mia Mia", "Roving Australian Aborigines Camp in the Bush", two very attractive multi-views, a later set (?) of 10 coloured shots that would have caused the master to have a seizure!, etc, condition variable but generally fine to very fine used or unused.
NEW SOUTH WALES: Star Photo Co group of posed portraits including a chief wearing his "King's Plate" (two different) & a couple of others, one used, fine to very fine unused.
NEW SOUTH WALES: Swain & Co five different portraits (one used) & "Australian Aborigines' Camp NSW", unused.
NEW SOUTH WALES: c.1910 AGJ "Australian Aboriginals" being at least 29 natives crammed into & onto a Cobb & Co coach, deckled edges, unused. Fantastic photograph.
NORTHERN TERRITORY: J Taylor (Adelaide) "Aborigines of Musgrave Ranges Centeral [sic] Australia" & "Aboriginals Surprised by a Camel Team Central Australia" (both unused); Buscall (Darwin) real photo "Bark Canoe..." (4 men & a dog), real photo of Aboriginal horsemen fording a creek, Ellanbee "Finke River" (large group of women in Western clothes), PPC-size real photo "Old Trenches at Fort Dundas" (from the 1826 settlement, a couple of stains), "Anula Woman with Sesrs [= Scars] on the Body", and CA Pitt (Adelaide) real photo "Emily Gap, Alice Springs" (not an Aborigine card), condition variable.
NORTHERN TERRITORY: Real photo portrait cards including marvellous group shots of a small tribe & of a group of men with their catch of birds turtle & eggs, also "Pine Creek Natives" (2 men with spears, used in 1910), "Native Home NT" (owners outside their squat), "Bathurst Islanders", "Off For The Camp, Darwin NT" (woman & two children), uncaptioned warrior & giant anthill, six men in a dugout canoe (edges trimmed), and two others, fine to very fine unused.
NORTHERN TERRITORY: Mostly real photo cards & a PPC-size photograph all of corroborees & preparations for same, a few blemishes but most are fine to very fine unused. A very desirable group.
NORTHERN TERRITORY: Ryko Photo (Darwin) real photo cards inscribed on the negatives "Catfish caught by spearing Marrakai NT" (an impressive haul), "Pigs & natives gathering red lily roots Daly River NT", "Cooper's boys among tamed buffalo calves Marrakai NT", "Young Alligator [sic] NT Sunbasking" (of course it's a crocodile, with hunter approaching; repaired 10mm tear) & "How the murdered Malays lost their weapons Rabuma Island NT Sept 1916", the last is very fine unused, the others with a few blemishes & Canadian addresses written on the address sides.
NORTHERN TERRITORY: Ryko Photo (Darwin) real photo cards inscribed on the negatives "Overland Cycling Varieties in the NT Crossing Adelaide River" (native & white man with the latter's bicylcle in dugout canoe) and "NT Cycling crossing East Alligator River" (five natives waist-deep carrying bicycle & provisions above their heads), unused. Wonderful!
QUEENSLAND: Various publishers with six of tree-climbing including a multi-view, inset in floral borders x3, "picture-frame" borders x6, H King "A Tribal Medicine Man", etc, mostly fine to very fine used or unused.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA: Interesting group including Undivided Back "SA Aboriginal - Lubra", Harding & Billings "Fire by Friction", Stump & Co "Australian Aboriginal Lubra & Piccaninni", Wrench x4 including "...lubra with mat and basket made by her from reeds", JB Siddall x2 with brown frames, United Aborigines Mission c.1940s "Children of Colebrook Home Quorn with Missionaries...", others including "Stuart's Creek Native in Fighting Array", "Black Trackers' Camp", "Wild Blacks from Central Australia", "Native Fisherman, Lake Alexandrina", native camps at Encounter Bay, Mannum, Port Lincoln & Streaky Bay, etc, condition variable.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA: Real photo types including full frontal nudes x3 (two women; two little boys; teenage girl & baby), "Corroboree...", "Catching a Goana" (young boy & dog with reptile), "Encounter Bay Natives", three others, condition variable unused or used under cover.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA: Sands & McDougall series Black & White x8 (one soiled) including "Black Trackers" x2 different, "Black Trackers' Camp", Stuart's Creek Native Spear Throwing", "Flour Rations to Natives" etc, or coloured x10 including "Lake Alexandrina Blacks - Making Damper", "A Native Black Tracker", "Mounted Police and Native Black Trackers..." (central fault), "A Black Tracker's Home", etc, generally fine to very fine used or unused.
TASMANIA: Spurling "Aborigines of Tasmania (an extinct race)", Walch version of the same painting, TE Barker "King Billy & Truganini" & "Group of Aboriginals Tas" (on Flinders Island?; underpaid with New Zealand 1d Postage Due), Beattie "The Last of the Tasmanians: Wm Lanne [sic]: Trucanini [sic]", real photos of King Billy x2 different & of Governor Davey's 1816 Proclamation warning of retribution for attacking settlers, and one other, very fine & scarce group.
VICTORIA: VSM Coranderrk quartet "Natives and their weapons", "Corroboree men...", "Natives making Firesticks..." & "Types of Aboriginal Beauty", also "A native and his camp, Maloga", WTP "Lubras Camp, Maloga" (a couple of faults) & Jordan (Warrnambool) "Wilmot's Mia-Mia, Warrnambool" (superb), fine to very fine used or unused.
VICTORIA: 1910 real photo "A Family Group Corranderrk" used at Healesville with message "Some of the patients. I know them". Superb! Ex Shirley Jones: acquired at our auction of 14.12.2015 for $240.
VICTORIA: c.1910 real photos of Coranderrk weddings with everyone in European finery, two with imprint of Ernest Fysh (Healesville), unused. A similar but used quartet sold at our auction of 14.12.2015 for $1428 ($357 each).
VICTORIA: Lake Tyers (Gippsland) mostly VSM group including several family groups, dugout canoes x2, "Throwing the Boomerang...", "Winter quarters for natives..." etc, mostly used & generally very fine.
VICTORIA: Lake Tyers (Gippsland) real photo types comprising three portraits, "Crystal Bay...", "Cross's Launch Trips...", "Kitty in her Canoe..." (stated to be from a c.1865 photo), three with imprint of HD Bulmer (Bairnsdale), two 1950s Rose portrait cards, fine to very fine used or unused; also four boys urinating on a campfire (faults, but hilarious).
