PLATE 1: 2d deep full blue SG 4 [PA] from the left of the sheet with margins close to huge, light Maltese Cross in black, Cat £1150.
PLATE 1: 2d blue SG 5 horizontal strip of 4 [SA-SD], the first unit with full margins, the second & third units a bit cut-into at the base & the last unit just shaved at the base, neat Maltese Crosses in red, Cat £3600++ (Spec Cat £38,000 for a block of 4).
PLATE 1: 2d blue singles on five 1840-42 covers, the stamps all with 3-3½ margins, Spec Cat £12,500.

PLATE 2: 2d blue six singles, one with almost full margins & a chunk of the adjoining unit above, another with good even margins & an obvious but indistinct 1844-type numeral cancellation, a little aged, Cat £6000+. [The Gibbons Specialised prices a 2d with 1844-type postmark at £2500]
PLATE 2: 2d blue three examples on 1840-41 entires 1) 26.10.1840 London to Henley-on-Arden with [OA]; 2) Scotland to Ireland with [PD], 'BELFAST' transit b/s & 'LISBURN' arrival cds on the face; and 3) 4.8.1841 used within ireland with 'TRALEE' cds & diamond d/s of Dublin on the reverse; the stamps all with 3-3½ margins; Spec Cat £9000.
