1901 "Links of Empire" Series for the Royal Visit by the Duke & Duchess of York to Open the First Federal Parliament in Melbourne on 9th May 1901 comprising No 6 (kangaroo), 7 ("Parliament House, Adelaide"), 8 ("Sydney Harbour") & 9 ("Brisbane"), the first with Melbourne cds of 6.5.01, the others with cds of the relevant cities. Very scarce.
1907 Regal Post Card "The Kelly Gang - From an original Photograph", unused.
1908 Visit of the American "Great White Fleet" superior selection of scarce cards comprising WTP chromolithos x5 (two used), Empire hand-tinted and two anonymous hand-tinted cards, plus Postal Cards NSW 1d & Victoria 1d, unused.
1924 British Empire Exhibition (Wembley) Australian Pavilion group issued for distribution at the Exhibition including James Scott x4, floral arrangements by Ellis Rowan x3, Australian High Commissioner x3, Commonwealth Immigration Office, etc, a few different editions of the same photo, generally fine to very fine, a few are used including with Exhibition 1d x3.
ADVERTISING: Pre-WWI selection including for "Earl's-Court/Woy Way" (multi-view), "Corrick Family Entertainers", ANA "Kew Bot's [sic] Naval Brigade" (1907, multi-view), The King's Theatre "Sailor Jack", Barraclough's Ostrich Farm "A Fighting Ostrich", Grand United Order of Oddfellows, John Bridge & Co Wool Brokers, etc & postcard-size advert card for Wesley Church Melbourne "Dr Guiness' Last Lecture", a few are a bit knocked-about but all are presentable to very fine used or unused. A very scarce group.
ARTIST CARDS: Album of cards by ET de Closay x6, Leslie Board x4, Charles Hammond x13 including "How We Beat the Favourite" x6 (horse racing), LH Davey x18 mostly Tasmanian scenes, C Young x15, R Riches x4, AH Fullwood x16, Arthur Streeton (creased), etc, lots of Bush Scenes, Landscapes & Seascapes but other subjects noted, condition variable but generally fine to very fine. ARTIST CARDS: JA TURNER: Extensive collection of Bush Scenes from various series, noted as being almost complete "Total needed 7"(!), some scenes are duplicated but have different colouration or embellishments etc & some have advertising for Swallow & Ariell Biscuits, RA Dickinson Shoes & Boots (Hawthorn), Chittick Bros Bakers (Seymour) and Ward Lock & Co Postcard Retailers, also a couple of novelty types & a few tiny versions with 1923 calendars printed on the reverse, finally a lovely "Where Flow the Southern Seas" folder with four of Turner's paintings & four B&W photos (very fine), condition variable but many are fine to very fine unused or used.
