Eclectic group including 1933 airmail cover to London with terrific franking including KGV 1/4d x8 etc (two other stamps missing), WWI POW envelopes to Austria with Free h/s or USA with printed Free, 1d Military Envelope unused, 1943 cover with ACF 'JUNGLE/FIGHTING'S/TOUGH/...' label on the reverse, WWII Army Medal Section 4½d Wrapper superb unused, five different OHMS covers with printed registration lines etc, NSW 1840 part-entire Sydney to "London Docks" & 1852 OHMS part-outer with an enormous Laureate 2d, etc, condition variable.

Interesting array with a batch of airmail covers including commercial items three with KGV 1/4d & to Singapore with Large Kooka 6d & 3d White Wattles, 1908 Northern Tasmanian Tourists Association view-wallet, 1916 to USA with KGV ½d & 1d pair with 'AWS' perfins, 1919 registered with KGV ½d green & 4d orange, 1926 with boxed 'CLOSED/AGAINST/INSPECTION' h/s taxed with Postage Due 2d & 3d x5, 1932 with KGV 2d 'OS' Overprint, 1932 Letter Card with 'GOVERNMENT HOUSE GARDEN FETE/SYDNEY' cds (used one day only), 1934 paquebot with Macarthur set cancelled at Naples Italy, 1944 YMCA foldout Christmas card, two items damaged in transit with Post Office advice letters, etc, also NSW 1853 outer with Sydney Views 3d to London "per Harbinger" & a modest group of Tasmanian Postal Cards including a few with added Embossings, condition rather mixed.

Commercial covers accumulation with 1917 'On Active Service' group, 1920 Royal Visit colourful invitation to the 'Official Landing' in special envelope (stamp does not belong), strength in Decimal frankings noted 40c Bird solo airmail to Hong Kong returned, registered and certified items, some used postal stationery, a few PPCs and Colonies items, also range of Victorian & New South Wales Railway Parcel stamps on large pieces, condition mixed but many fine. Weighs 3kg.
Small box with some KGV items including commercial registereds from 'MURTOA/VIC', 'TAREE/NSW' & 'TULLAMORE/ NSW', 1920 KGV Sideface 4d Registration Envelope uprated to Denmark with scarce red/black RL of 'TAMBO' (Qld), two 5/10d rate Clipper covers to GB, condition variable; and a batch of 60+ Postal Stationery all philatelic with various Vietnam War cancels.
1901 unused envelope with very fine 'GOVERNOR-GENERAL/[arms]/FRANK STAMP/AUSTRALIA' h/s in blue & embossed arms in blue on the flap. The only unused envelope we have seen.

1910 underpaid Lubin Manufacturing Co (Philadelphia) cover with USA 5c Washington, taxed with 'SEATTLE /T/10/CENTIMES' opera-glass cachet converted on arrival with Sydney '3D' cachet alongside, Postage Dues Completed Design ½d block of 4 and pair affixed tied by 'NSW' concentric-rings cancels, minor edge faults & slightly shortened at right not affecting stamps or markings.
1913 usage of 'TASMANIA/INTERSTATE/PARCEL POST' black/pink label with rare combination franking of First Wmk 1/- (Cat $1250 on cover) & Tasmanian 2d tied by a largely complete strike of the enormous 'CHIEF PARCELS OFFICE/JUL 7 1913/HOBART' datestamp (rated RR) in violet, minor blemishes.
1914-18 covers all franked with Engraved 1d, two used within Victoria, two to "Royal Military College/Duntroon" (FCT) & one at double-rate to England, some soiling etc.
1915 usage of Sideface 1d Letter Card ('RIVER DERWENT') in brown with rare franking of First Wmk 3d Die II (Cat $1250 on cover) tied by 'REGISTERED/24FE15/SYDNEY NSW' cds, red & black registration label, 'MOSS VALE' arrival b/s, adhesion on the viewside. [The letter states "Enclosed please find Money Order £3-7-0..." NB: the Third Wmk 3d was not issued until about October 1915]
1918 two covers endorsed "Letter for enemy country enclosed" to Switzerland each with the rare boxed 'PASSED BY/CENSOR SD/...' (small letters) cachet in violet applied at Sydney, plus a cover without the endorsement & the standard cachet in red for comparison.
1918 & 1919 usage of KGV 1d Wrappers ACSC #W4 to South Africa with KGV ½d green (very fine) or to California with Kangaroo 2d (opened a bit roughly).
1918 & 1922 two plain OHMS medal envelopes franked with 'OS' punctures KGV 5d Rough Paper (faults, Cat $1500 on cover) or KGV 2d orange + Roo 2½d both registered Melbourne to Yarram, a few faults.
1919 unfranked Swiss Consulate at Sydney cover to "Mr H Krischke" in the German Concentration Camp at Liverpool with 'FOR INTERNED CIVILIAN' h/s in violet, couple of minor blemishes. [Presumably contained a letter from Germany forwarded via neutral Switzerland]
1921 (Oct 16) commercial cover with rare franking of KGV 1d red + 4d violet x3 (the single partly overlaps the pair) tied by light Sydney cds, red/white RL, slightly truncated at left & light soiling. A remarkable cover. [The rate was 2d per ½oz x5 + 3d registration]
1921 (Dec 1) usage of KGV 5d Registration Envelope to New Zealand with Kangaroo Third Wmk 6d blue tied by Sydney cds, red RL label. [The rate was 2d per ½oz x4 + 3d registration. NB: the stamp appears to have Extensive Retouching at Left, especially in the upper-half. No such variety is recorded in the ACSC]
1922 usage of 1½d Postal Card for Royal Society of Victoria to New York with bold 'T/30c' h/s & 5-line 'THIS LETTER WAS POSTED INSUFFICIENTLY PREPAID/...' cachet in violet, US 'DUE/6/CENTS' h/s and precancelled Postage Due 1c & 5c affixed, stained on the reverse.
1923-40 complete 'PARCELS POST' labels including eleven different editions, various frankings mostly with Roos to 2/-, several with scarce parcel roller cancels, condition variable with some creasing but all highly presentable. The basis for an interesting collection.
1924 usage of 'THREE/HALFPENCE' on 2d red Letter Card ('MOSMAN'S BAY') to Sussex with Hobart Krag machine cancel with British Empire Exhibition slogan (very scarce from Hobart).
1929 (Aug 12) catalogue envelope (247x177mm) for Joseph Charles by air to Tasmania with scarce franking of Small Multiple Wmk 1/- Roo & KGV 1/4d pair plus 3d Airmail (fault) tied by Perth Krag machine cancel, 'ST HELENS/19AU29/TASMANIA' arrival b/s, folds clear of the stamps. The 1/4d is rare on domestic mail. [Sent as Printed Matter, the rate was 1d per 4oz x2 + airmail supplement of 3d per ½oz x15 = 47d for an article weighing between 7½ & 8oz. At the time, the final leg Melbourne-Launceston was by sea]
1930 commercial cover from France with 10c pair, 50c & 1fr strip of 5 tied by 'TOULON' cds, Australian Customs blue/white 'ASSESSMENT LABEL' on the face endorsed "Free & another example on the reverse, a bit knocked-about but these labels are rarely seen on cover. [See also Lot 1149]
