Large shoebox of commercial & philatelic mail with some better frankings including Silver Jubilee set x2 & 5/- Robes on Clipper cover; better postmarks including 'AUST EXHBTN MELBNE N3' on Vic Centenary 1/-, 1954 with 'POSTED EGELABRA SIDING/NO POST OFFICE' & NSW TPO cds, & 1953 'PAID BULK RATE/ROCKHAMPTON'; Military including 1941 to USA with huge '101 GEN HOSP/4TH MD' cachet, 1944 POW Post Card from Murchison Camp to Germany, BCOF set to Thin Paper 5/- with 'AUST ARMY PO/214' cds, Vietnam commercial registered airmail to Adelaide with Olympics 5c & 25c tied by 'AUST FPO/3' cds & superb registration cachet, etc; also noted 1943 registered to Argentina, 1907 Paquebot from Gibraltar apparently taxed in error & 1938 from NZ correctly addressed to "Karumba/NT" with 'POST-TOWN/NOT KNOWN/["Australia"]' handstamp & apologetic letter from the PMG's Department; condition variable.

Pre-1950 commercial airmails group with better frankings including Roos 9d & 1/- on 1931 to GB with extra 1d for forwarding to Germany, ANZAC 1/- & Large Kooka 6d to GB, KGVI 3d blue strip of 3 to Penang, Robes 5/- pair & 10/- on two double-rate Clipper Mail covers, Robes 10/- on 1948 Registration Envelope to USA, also 1939 EAMS 5d rate cover to Canada which was not a participant so jusqu'a bars added at London, condition a bit mixed.
1930s-60s advertising covers with many attractive illustrated types including for LJ Thomas Stock Agents (Gympie), Monaghans Removalists (LIsmore NSW), Woodroofe's Cordials (Adelaide), Glenara Private Hotel (Lakes Entrance), Bush's Bird Shop (Sydney), Canberra Hotel (Brisbane), Lucky Nolan Sweepstakes (Ipswich), Tasmanian Government Railways, etc, several Rotary types & Cleland Shipping Agents (Port Adelaide) advertising collar, some on Postal Stationery, etc, a few faults but generally fine to very fine.
Post-WWII pre-decimal advertising covers mostly with imprints only but many are illustrated including a number of very attractive items, the collection is from GB so many are addressed there mostly by air with some better frankings including ANZAC 2/3d single & a pair on a registered cover, generally fine to very fine. A really appealing lot.

Advertising illustrations & imprints on covers & Postal Stationery with many very attractive items tho the condition is a bit mixed so inspection is recommended. We noted Fullface 1d Letter Card with 'From GLOBE TIMBER MILLS COMPANY, Adelaide' Overprint, 1930s Swans Ltd Heaters (NSW) lettersheet plus folder for 6 such forms, David Shearer Farm Equipment (SA) x5 with 'Moistur ' Error, etc.

A mostly unprepossessing group but a few better items including Ashburton Road Board (WA) airmail to Perth at 1/1d rate, 1933 Mascot Aerial Pageant blue PPC (VF unused), 1937 Air Mail Exhibition catalogue, a page of unusual labels, lots of Postal Stationery, etc, also some Victoria including 1858 to GB with Imperf 6d orange, condition variable.

Covers accumulation mostly 1950s-70s domestic mail noted advertising, slogan & meter cancels, postmark interest, better Decimal frankings including 1969 5c PM booklet pair on formular aerogramme, range of 1971 7c Christmas single frankings (a complete set of 7 + extras), 1975 Science 24c solo on oversize cover, etc, plus 1959 airmail from West Germany repaired with 'RECEIVED IN AIR MAIL SEC-/TION SYDNEY IN DAMAGED/CONDITION' cachets, also FDCs from the same period noted quantity of Hermes generics, condition mixed but many fine. Weighs 6kg.
Box with an interesting array including two small WWII correspondences, bundle of NSW 'relief' covers including registered 'ties', lots of Canberra/ACT content including numerous commemorative datestamps, 1930s covers to Prime Minister Joseph Lyons including from Belgium, New Guinea & Trinidad, two large PMG's Department pieces with different 'PARCELS POST' 'labels' printed thereon, other useful bits n pieces, condition variable.

Batch of Kangaroo frankings including ½d strip of 3 on PPC to USA, 1d punctured Large 'OS' on postcard to GB, six 1930s airmail covers with values to 1/-, etc, condition variable.
Batch of KGV Heads frankings including airmail & registered covers, 1918 ½d green municipal printed matter with scarce 'MORNINGTON JCTN/VIC' cds, 1921 tiny cover with 2d orange, 1922 2d scarlet x3 on double-rate - 4d + 2d - cover to USA "Per SS Ventura", 1929 OHMS with punctured 'OS' 1½d & 3d, 1933 OHMS registered with 3d overprinted 'OS' pair, 1938 with 'STOP/PRACTISE/ROAD SAFETY' label, etc, condition variable.

1901 unused envelope with very fine 'GOVERNOR-GENERAL/[arms]/FRANK STAMP/AUSTRALIA' h/s in blue & embossed arms in blue on the flap. The only unused envelope we have seen.
1910 underpaid Lubin Manufacturing Co (Philadelphia) cover with USA 5c Washington, taxed with 'SEATTLE /T/10/CENTIMES' opera-glass cachet converted on arrival with Sydney '3D' cachet alongside, Postage Dues Completed Design ½d block of 4 and pair affixed tied by 'NSW' concentric-rings cancels, minor edge faults & slightly shortened at right not affecting stamps or markings.
1915 (Mar 6) commercial cover to USA with scarce combination franking of WA ½d + KGV 1d red pair tied by 'POPANYINNING/WESTN AUST' cds, double-boxed 'PASSED BY/CENSOR.' h/s of Perth in green, stain at U/R affects the 1d pair.

1919 unfranked Swiss Consulate at Sydney cover to "Mr H Krischke" in the German Concentration Camp at Liverpool with 'FOR INTERNED CIVILIAN' h/s in violet, couple of minor blemishes. [Presumably contained a letter from Germany forwarded via neutral Switzerland]
1921 (Dec 1) usage of KGV 5d Registration Envelope to New Zealand with Kangaroo Third Wmk 6d blue tied by Sydney cds, red RL label. [The rate was 2d per ½oz x4 + 3d registration. NB: the stamp appears to have Extensive Retouching at Left, especially in the upper-half. No such variety is recorded in the ACSC]
1924 usage of 'THREE/HALFPENCE' on 2d red Letter Card ('MOSMAN'S BAY') to Sussex with Hobart Krag machine cancel with British Empire Exhibition slogan (very scarce from Hobart).
1927 'Illustrated Souvenir of the visit of/...the Duke & Duchess of York' with 18 fold-out Sydney views, to Estonia with KGV 1½d tied by Sydney cds, minor defects & light toning.
1934 KGV ½d large stationery envelope (245x165mm) STO for McMillan & Co, London sent to Victoria with Australia-London Customs Duty 'ONE/CENT' on ½d red & brown overprint pair on face tied 'CANCELLED' cachet, plus Royal Institute of International Affairs cover with 'TWO/CENTS' on 1d gold & blue and un-overprinted ¼d 'mixed franking', 1935 with 'THREE/CENTS' on 2d green & orange and 1937 with 1d gold & blue all similarly tied on face of large covers, a few minor blemishes. Apparently stamps overprinted in US currency were surplus to requirements and were sent back to London to be used up there.
1934 registered philatelic airmail cover from 'BUGLE/CORNWALL' to Albury where redirected to "Rovers Camp/Scouts Jamboree/Frankston" with very fine 'AUST JAMBOREE FRANKSTON/9JA35/VIC.' b/s applied.
1934 (Dec 11) form for 'RECEIVED TELEGRAM' from Sydney with 'DARWIN/NT' cds, with the envelope to Scotland endorsed "RECEIVED AT DARWIN FOR ONWARD TRANSMISSION BY AIR MAIL" with scarce 'PAID/DARWIN NT' cds. The first Australia-England flight departed Brisbane 10.12.1934 per "Hippomenes"; then per "Arethusa" ex Darwin 12.12.1934.
