1823 printed entire from Calcutta to "Lieut Coll H Stacpoole/Ceylon", largely very fine ovoid 'MADRAS' d/s & oval 'GPO/MAY/Pt Pd' h/s, very minor soiling. Early inwards mail. [The letter apologises for having to reduce interest on monies held because of "The great depreciation which the value of Money is now experiencing...[and] the depression under which the Money Market labours..."] Reasonable offers considered.
1894 usage of '3 CENTS' on 5c Postal Card registered to Montenegro! & uprated with Tablet 3x x4, 'GALLE' cds & London transit both in red. Registered Postal Cards are rarely seen. Reasonable offers considered.
1900-07 comprising 1) cover to Cape Colony with Tablets 6c & small black/cream 'OPENED UNDER MARTIAL LAW' label; 2) Indian Ża Envelope to Colombo with the stamp cancelled on arrival; 3) usage of Ceylon PPC to GB with Ceylon 6c & India 1a tied by Rangoon cds; & 4) underpaid PPC to Bombay with tiny 'BOMBAY/UNPAID' d/s in green. 1902 commercial usage to China of PPC (Anuradhapura triptych) with Tablets 6c tied by very fine 'SLAVE ISLAND' (actually a Colombo suburb) cds, Hong Kong & Shanghai transits & superb 'TSINGTAU/KIAUTSCHOU' arrival cds. Excellent destination. Reasonable offers considered.
