1897 Australian team photograph titled 'Mr.George Giffen's Australian Eleven, Perth, WA, 1897' shows five cricketers wearing their straw boaters with the Australian Coat-of-Arms hatband, player's names printed on mount including George Giffen, Syd Gregory, Clem Hill & Harry Trott, overall 26x20cm.
1898-99 'Rest of Australia' photograph the team that played the Australian XI at the MCG on 10-13 March for spots on the 1899 Ashes Tour, includes George Giffen, Victor Trumper, Charles Eady, Frank Laver as well as Charles Bannerman (Australian Test Player No.1), some faults to mount but photo fine. [As a result of the match, five new players were added to the 1899 Ashes squad including Trumper & Laver]
