PROOFS: 1d, 3d & 6d die proofs in black on India paper (22x28mm) affixed at top to separate pieces from the NSW Government Printer's record book, the 3d & 6d with minor stains where affixed. A unique set. Ex Robertson. Separate BPA Certificates (1986).
PROOFS: 1879 2d imperforate plate proof block of 4 in issued colour on very thin ungummed unwatermarked wove paper, some creasing & toning.

PROOFS: 1879 4d imperforate plate proof block of 4 in issued colour on very thin ungummed unwatermarked wove paper, minor toning & creasing. Ex Robertson: realised £479 at auction in 1992. [NB: The 4d value was not issued until 1890, despite three separate 'Four Pence' Surcharges being issued between 1883 & early-1890]
One Penny selection on exhibit pages with many better stamps including 'CR' 1d mint, Perf 10x12½ mint & used, Perf 10 mint (6, one "Cambridge" blue), Perf 10x11¾ mint , Perf 11¾x10 used, Perf 11x10 block of 4 mint etc, also Perf 10 on a defective OHMS wrapper, condition a bit mixed, Cat £720+. (38)
Two Pence selection on exhibit pages with mint including 'CR' 2d (no gum), 'Two Pence' on 3d imperf pair, Perf 10x12½ etc plus used shades including Perf 10x12½ single & a pair on piece, generally fine, Cat £600+. (39)

1881-90 PERF 10: 'Four Pence' Type A (12½mm) on 2d mauve SG 42 with manuscript "Specimen" in red, a few characteristic short perfs, large-part o.g. Ex Robertson: realised £412 at auction in 1992.
1881-90 PERF 10: 4d rosy mauve SG 44, Suva cds of 1893. Unpriced used. [Noted by Don Welsh as being "very scarce"]
1881-90 PERF 10: 6d bright rose SG 45a with manuscript "Specimen" in black, some characteristic short perfs, large-part o.g. Ex Robertson: realised £412 at auction in 1992.
1881-90 PERF 10x12½: 6d rose SG 48, large-part o.g., Cat £350.
1886-88 PERF 11¾x10: 2d yellow-green SG 51b, typical poor centring & some rough perfs as usual, Suva cds of OC3/1886, Cat £500.
1897-99 PERF 11: 6d dull rose SG 57 block of 4, a couple of minor wrinkles, full unmounted o.g., Cat £104++ (mounted).
1897-99 PERF 11: Plate II 6d bright rose SG 57b, Suva cds of 1902. Rare. [The vast majority of Plate II stamps were Perf 11x11¾. Of the Perf 11 stamps, Purves recorded only a used pair. No remaindered CTO examples recorded]
1896 PERF 11x11¾: 4d grey-violet, CTO with Suva cds. [From the 1906 remainders but it's believed only one sheet of 100 was printed. Many units were affected by a blue pencil-line. This example has no such defacement. A defaced example in our sale of 14/4/2005 sold for $529]
1896 PERF 11x11¾: 6d rose SG 59, GPO cds of AP2/01, unpriced used.
1896 PERF 11x11¾: Plate II 6d bright rose SG 59a (+ 1/2d) tied to cover to United States via Vancouver & Seattle (b/s) by 'SUVA/17/NOV/02' cds, small boxed registration h/s, minor corner fault at lower-right. A rare franking. Ex Yarry. [Don Welsh states "The only Plate II 6d - apart from a set on philatelic cover - I have ever seen"]
IMPERFORATE: 6d rose SG 63 marginal example from left of the sheet, margins close to huge, Cat £1300 for a pair.
