½d to 1/4d basic set with all colours and including 1d red Smooth Paper Die II & Die III, 4d lemon and 4d orange Watermark Inverted, variable centring, 1½d brown with surface abrasion, 3d a little toned with gum bends, a few other minor gum blemishes, some low values lightly mounted, denominations from 4d upwards (except 4d olive-yellow) are unmounted, Cat $1800+. (Qty 22)
1d State 4 (the approved state) die proof in carmine-rose on glazed card reduced to stamp-size BW #70DP(14)Bd, tiny and barely significant stain in the margin at upper-left, Cat $12,500. Dunkerley Certificate (2007) confirms the ACSC statement that 7 die proofs are recorded in this colour, of which this and two others are cut-down.
Smooth Paper 1d carmine Die II BW #71(1)f, exceptional centring, very lightly mounted, Cat $600
Smooth Paper 1d red pair Watermark Inverted, the left-hand unit being Die II BW #71(1)fa, unmounted, Cat $1500 plus a good premium for the watermark variety.
War Savings Paper Die III 1d deep bright red Thinned 'US' of 'AUSTRALIA' First State (Thinned Oval & White Flaw within 'U') BW #75m, well centred, fine 'SCONE/20AU18/NSW' cds clear of the flaw, Cat $500.
War Savings Paper Die III 1d deep bright red Thinned 'US' of 'AUSTRALIA' Third State (Retouched: Deformed 'S') BW #75mb, one pulled perf at lower-left, very lightly cancelled, Cat $1500.
4d lime-yellow BW #110D horizontal pair, 'SPECIAL/8P 31OC16/SYDNEY' cds, Cat $1000+. [The shade was "lemon-yellow" when I first entered the trade. There was no "lime-green". In describing the difference, the ACSC states "...the details (of the design) are difficult to distinguish", which is certainly true of this pair]

4d orange Line through 'FOUR PENCE' BW #110(2)h being the last unit in an upper-right corner block of 6 (3x2) remarkably with trace of the Plate 1 Monogram at Top!, well centred, a few microscopic black flecks on the face - you need to be as short-sighted as Gary to see them! - & some minor perf reinforcing at base otherwise a very fine & attractive block, the upper units unmounted, Cat $800++.
4d orange Watermark Inverted BW #110a four singles in distinctly different shades (one with tone spot at top) plus an attractive block of 4 from the upper-left of the right-hand pane (faint toning, two units unmounted), and a used example, Cat $850 minimum. (Qty 9)
