Birnie family correspondence comprising entires with Imperf or Perf Penny Reds (9, two with boxed 'QUEEN/STREET' handstamp), three entires to Victoria 1856 with Embossed 6d (almost 4 margins, small fault at base), 1857 with 2d blue & defective 4d, and 1861 with 1d & fine 4d pair, plus a few scraps, condition rather mixed. 1951 Festival of Britain 2½d & 4d tied by Guidford cds of 3MY/51 to seven hand-painted First Day Covers by the noted Adelaide illustrator, the late AJ (Jack) Peake. [Subjects are Windsor & Harlech Castles, Trafalgar Square, Epping Forest, Durham Cathedral, Tewkesbury Abbey and a country mill] (Qty 7)
