1914-15 6mm Spacing '1d.' on 5pf green, '2d.' on 10pf carmine, '2d.' on 20pf ultramarine & '3d.' on 30pf SG 2 3 4 & 8, well centred, all but the 2d on small pieces & all with 'RABAUL/Oct 17 1914' datestamp in violet being the First Day of Issue, Cat £715.

1914 High Values 3½-4mm Spacing '1s.' on 1mk red SG 12, shallow central thin, unused, Cat £2750.
1914 High Values 3½-4mm Spacing '1s.' on 1mk red SG 12, excellent centring, tied to small piece by 'RABAUL/NOV 18 1914' d/s in bluish black, Cat £3750. Philatelic Foundation Certificate (2001). [Neither Tim Rybak nor "Ello" had a used example of this rare stamp]
1914 High Values 3½-4mm Spacing '2s.' on 2mk blue SG 13, very faint toning that doesn't detract from the very fine facial appearance, Cat £2500.
1914 High Values 3½-4mm Spacing '3s.' on 3mk violet-black SG 14, well centred, unused, Cat £4500. BPA Certificate (1949) states "mint". [Acquired for $2875 at our auction of 11/7/2008. Tim Rybak's mint example - with a couple of tiny blemishes - sold for $3680]
1914-15 5mm Spacing '1d.' on 3pf, '2d.' on 10pf & '3d.' on 25pf SG 16 18 & 22, tied to separate pieces by oval Rabaul d/s in violet, Cat £355. (Qty 3)
1914-15 5mm Spacing '1d.' on 5pf to '5d'. on 50pf SG 16-25 (ex '2½d.' on 20pf), the '2d.' on 10pf very lightly mounted otherwise unmounted, Cat £1065+ (mounted). (Qty 8)
1914-15 5mm Spacing '1d.' on 5pf green SG 17 horizontal pair & strip of 3 tacked/affixed to piece of paper "blanket" (110x194mm) with "blocks" of the overprint forme comprising 5x3 and 5x4 impressions [Stg 5 Pos 6-10] of which 12 - including on the remaining stamps - are inked & the other 23 are obvious albino impressions, some spotting hardly detracts from what is a technical piece of the utmost importance; plus two horizontal pairs & piece of selvedge from the left comprising [Stg 5 Pos 1-5], unused; Cat £180++. Holcombe Certificate (1997) for what was then a rejoined strip of 9 + selvedge at left comprising a complete row of 10 impressions. ["Ello's" piece of "blanket" with a block of 6 affixed sold for $1725. His pieces of "blanket" with a single '2½d.' on 20pf SG 7 or '3d.' on 30pf SG 7 each plus two inked impressions sold for $2185 & $2645 respectively]This item indicates the lengths to which the authorities went to extract maximum value from the captured stock of stamps. It demonstrates how single stamps and small multiples were partially affixed to paper "blankets" to allow them to be surcharged using the overprinting forme of a horizontal row of 10 positions. NB: Setting 5 is rated "x10" by Gibbs.

1915 'G.R.I./3d.' on Registration Labels comprising 'Rabaul/(Deutsch-Neuguinea)' SG 33d, 'Herbertshöhe/ (Deutsche Neuguinea)' SG 36, 'Käwieng/Deutsch Neu-Guinea' SG 37b & 'Kieta/(Deutsch-Neuguinea)' SG 38, unused, Cat £1350. Scarce quartet. (Qty 4)
1915 'G.R.I./3d.' on Registration Labels seriffed letters 'Käwieng/(Deutsch-Neuguinea)' SG 42, full unmounted o.g., Cat £200 (mounted).
