1887 three private postcards each with an illustration of the Island & different versions of "Grün ist das Land/Roth ist die Kant/...", with British 'HELIGOLAND' cds of AP11/1887, JY--/1887 (stamp removed) or AU2/1887, some soiling but the last is quite fine. Very significant trio. Ex Keith Harrison. [Heligoland appears to have been the first place anywhere in the world for which "seaside" postcards were available . The two later cards are also among the earliest multi-coloured postcards recorded . In 1890 Britain ceded Heligoland to Germany in exchange for German concessions in East Africa]
