1891 cover to Switzerland via London (b/s) with Sideface 4d green pair tied by Christchurch squared-circle, mss "1½" in red (presumably an accountancy mark), superb 'ROLLE' arrival b/s.
1896 registered cover with Sideface 1d x5 (from two different sheets) tied by 'SPRINGFIELD' cds, reverse with allover classified adverts for Springfield merchants.
1897 Perdriau Rubber double-weight cover to the head office in USA (b/s) with NSW ½d grey, 2d Emu & 2½d Allegory tied by two very fine strikes of the cogwheel 'NZ MARINE PO/RMS ALAMEDA' cds in rosine, double-boxed 'PACKET-BOAT.' h/s also in rosine at lower-left, a couple of insignificant peripheral tears. Most attractive. [Hosking lists the Packet Boat h/s as #1558 - rated DD - of Bluff. However it was carried aboard ship, not at a land-based post office]
1902 (Feb) cover to Dannevirke (b/s) with superb strike of the rare 'MILITARY POST OFFICE, TE PAPAPA, NZ/FREE/*' h/s in blue, imprint of '9TH CONTINGENT CAMP/[arms]/AUCKLAND CENTRAL MISSION' in blue on flap, minor blemishes.
1919 'PRISONERS OF WAR CORRESPONDENCE' postcard with printed 'POST FREE' & multi-choice message on the reverse from a German POW at "Narrow Neck" (endorsed by the sender), 'PASSED BY THE/MILITARY CENSOR/N.Z.' h/s in violet. Rare.
1931 flight cover to Greece with KGV ½d & 2d plus 1931 Airs 3d 4d & 7d tied by 'HIGHFIELD/9NO31 1/NZ' cds, scarce 'USE NEW ZEALAND'S SUNNY SKIES/...' label on the face. [Dated the day before the Airs were issued; FDC CP Cat $NZ300]
