1897 Perdriau Rubber double-weight cover to the head office in USA (b/s) with NSW d grey, 2d Emu & 2d Allegory tied by two very fine strikes of the cogwheel 'NZ MARINE PO/RMS ALAMEDA' cds in rosine, double-boxed 'PACKET-BOAT.' h/s also in rosine at lower-left, a couple of insignificant peripheral tears. Most attractive. [Hosking lists the Packet Boat h/s as #1558 - rated DD - of Bluff. However it was carried aboard ship, not at a land-based post office]
