1927 'New Zealand Thoroughbred Yearling Sale' catalogue for January 21st 1927, marked on cover 'First' & "Official Catalogue'. Ex the auctioneer D.W.J. Gould with notes throughout, including references to Harry Telford purchasing Lots 20 & 22. [In 1928 Harry Telford returned to NZ to purchase Lot 41 which he named Phar Lap. In 2015 the auctioneer's catalogue for the 1928 sale sold for $46,300].

1930 Phar Lap's Racing Bridle used by Jim Pike during the 1930-31 season, being 59cm long, attached to two strapped chromed metal bits, the reins being 145cm long, with full strapping, race worn. Archivally framed, with a background photo of Phar Lap with Jim Pike up, overall 138x59cm. [Provenance: Mrs Olga Pike. Sold with the rest of Jim Pike's gear through the Trading Post to John East in 1975. In 1998 sold through Scott's auctions of Dandenong to Reg Howarth of Tahoma Stud. Sold in Cromwells auction to Scott Strahan in 2005, and displayed as Lot 17 at the State Library of NSW Australian Icons show in 2006].

Phar Lap is still the only horse to start odds-on in the Melbourne Cup. In an incredible feat, he won on all four days of the Spring Carnival].
