A well above-average set. (3)

1860 Large StarImperf 1d carmine-rose SG 1, very fine but for the design being just touched at lower-right, light Rays '87' of Drayton; 2d blue SG 2, margins close to good with complete outer framelines, indistinct cancel; and 6d green SG 3, good to large margins & outer framelines except at right, Brisbane duplex cancel; Cat £3400. A finer & more attractive set. RPSofL Certificate (1963) for the 6d. (3)
1860 Large StarImperf 1d carmine-rose SG 1, margins just clear to large with outer framelines except at the base, minor blemishes, unused, Cat £6500.
1860 Large StarImperf 1d carmine-rose SG 1, an enormous example with full outer framelines & a large chunk of the adjoining unit at right, minor ink-marks on the back transferred from the envelope, indistinct cancel, Cat £800.
1860 Large StarImperf 1d carmine-rose SG 1 two singles with full margins and almost full outer framelines tied to small piece by Rays '201' of Toowoomba, 'TAROOM/JY17/1861/QUEENSLAND' arrival b/s, the stamps affected at the base by a light ironed-out horizontal filing fold, Cat £1600.
1860 Large StarImperf 2d blue SG 2, margins good to large with full outer framelines except at upper-right, NSW Rays '85' cancel of Drayton largely clear of the Queen's face, Cat £1800.
1860 Large StarImperf 2d blue horizontal strip of 3, good margins & complete outer framelines except at the base where a bit cut-into, light indistinct cancels, Cat £5400++. An extremely rare multiple. [Bernie Manning recorded seven pairs & eight strips of 3, one in the Royal Collection. A very fine pair sold at the Prestige auction of 24.1.2004 for $8960]
1860 Large StarClean-Cut Perf 14-16 1d 2d & 6d x2, then Small Star Clean-Cut Perf 14-16 2d x2, 3d x4, 6d x5, 1/- x2 & 'REGISTERED' (a 'Colombo' shade, discoloured by seawater), Perf 14 at Somerset House 1d x6 (one unused) & 2d x2, and Rough Perf 14-16 1d x3 (two unused), 2d, 3d x4 (single & pair with large-part o.g.), 6d x4 (one unused), 1/- x2, 'REGISTERED' x6 including single & strip of 3 with large-part o.g., fine to very fine, Cat £4400+.
1860 Large StarClean-Cut Perf 14-16 1d carmine-rose SG 4, exceptional centring, unused, Cat £2750. A seriously underrated stamp. [No unused multiples, and fewer than a dozen singles - of which three are in the Royal Collection - have been recorded. Absent from most of the major collections. Bernie Manning's creased example sold at the Prestige auction of 12.5.2007 for $1322]
1860 Large StarClean-Cut Perf 14-16 6d green SG 6, very well centred, minor toning, unused, Cat £1400.
1860 Large StarClean-Cut Perf 14-16 6d green SG 6 horizontal pair, very well centred, minor blemishes & the first unit with a few trimmed perfs at the base, unused, Cat £2800+. [Bernie Manning recorded only two unused blocks of 4 - one of which is in the Royal Collection - and his pair. This pair is better-centred and, in our opinion, more attractive than Manning's pair - the first unit of which has a tiny surface blemish - that sold at the Prestige auction of 12.5.2007 for $9200]
1860 Small Star Watermarkcomplete sheet of 240 impressions (12x20) with 'POSTAGE' six times in the margins, central horizontal fold, aging/damp-spotting on the reverse only.
1862-67 No Watermark1d Indian red (small separation fault at lower-left), 1d vermilion, 2d pale blue, 2d blue pair, 3d, 6d apple-green, 6d yellow-green & 1/- SG 21-29 group, some characteristic irregular perfs, unused, a couple with part-o.g., Cat £1825.
1866-67 LithographedSecond Transfer ('FOUR' in Finer Letters) 4d lilac SG 55, exceptional centring, characteristic irregular perfs, large-part o.g., Cat £450. Underrated.
1868-74 Truncated Star2d blue horizontal pair, the right-hand unit being the normal Truncated Star Watermark but the left-hand unit being Small Star Watermark, light Rays '48' cancels. A remarkable instance of a wrong watermark 'bit' being inserted (replaced) on the dandy roll. [Far superior quality to Bernie Manning's similar pair, described as the only known pair outside the Royal Collection, which sold for $1840. Imagine the excitement - and the price - if this was a First Wmk/Second Wmk se-tenant pair of Kangaroos!]
1868-74 Truncated StarPerf 13 1/- mauve SG 73, unusually well centred, large-part o.g., Cat £400.
1868 Crown/Q (Wmk '5') Watermarkcomplete sheet of 240 impressions (12x20) with 'QUEENSLAND POSTAGE' four times in the margins, very fine 'PASSED/5MAY68/[initials]'-in-circle h/s in red, a little aged along the folds otherwise remarkably fine.
