Mounted collection of 1970s-1990s covers used on Closing Day (mostly) or Opening Day of post offices, some very minor duplication, some are signed by the postmasters.

Echunga (2): 'ECHUNGA/SP9/1859/=SOUTH-AUSTRALIA=' light but clear strike & fine '50' cancel on Rouletted 2d on outer to "Lapton (?)/Callington", very fine to superb transit b/s of 25mm 'HAHNDORF/S-A' (rated RRR), 'KANMANTOO/=SOUTH-AUSTRALIA=' (RRR) & 25mm 'NAIRNE/S-A' (RRR, with a second strike on the face), minor blemishes. Hectorville: 27mm squared-circle 'HECTORVILLE/FE10/08/S-A' largely very fine strike on 1d red on PPC to Ardrossan. Rated RRRR. [A similar item sold at the Prestige auction of 14/11/2014 for $253]
Klaebe's: squared-circle 'KLAEBE'S/JY17/08/S-A' two very fine strikes on PPC, message headed "Baldina". Rated RRR. PO 1/8/1879 as "Klaebe's (Baldina)"; RO -/1/1910; closed 31/12/1910. [A similar item sold at the Prestige auction of 14/11/2014 for $322]
Longwood: squared-circle 'LONGWOOD/AU21/06/S-A' two very fine strikes on Shierlaw front with 'STIRLING DISTRICT COUNCIL' imprint at upper-left, piece missing at lower-left. Rated RRRR. PO 2/4/1898.
Morphett Vale (1): 'MORPHETT-VALE/("Jan") 21/1858/-SOUTH-AUSTRALIA' superb strike and '66' cancel on Adelaide Printing 2d (3½ margins), GPO arrival b/s. Rated RRRR.
Mount Bryan East: 'MT BRYAN EAST/18NO18/STH AUST' (RO period) very fine strike on KGV ½d green. Rated RRRRR. PO -/7/1876; RO 1/12/1920; PO 1/7/1927; closed 2/10/1959.
Mount Vivian: squared-circle 'MOUNT VIVIAN/JA18/06/S-A' two almost fine to superb strikes on Tatts cover with 1d red & 2d violet x2, superb curved 'REGISTERED/No...' h/s. Rated RRR. PO 18/2/1908; renamed Bon Bon 1/12/1928.
Penola: unframed 25mm 'PENOLA/AU26/8161/S-A' (scrambled year for 1861) largely fine arrival b/s on cover to "Killride/via Penola" with Rouletted 2d tied by part-strike of '58' of Robe, colourless embossing 'GUICHEN BAY/ORMOROD & Co/...' on the flap. Rated RRRRR. [Guichen Bay was renamed Robe -/6/1847, but the separate Guichen Bay Telegraph Office opened 21/7/1858 & was not renamed Robe until 1866]
Quondong: 'QUONDONG/MY10/86/S-A' largely superb strike on 2d orange. Rated RRRR. PO 1/9/1884; replaced by Pine Valley 12/11/1900.
Travelling Post Offices: 25mm unframed 'P.O.RAILWAY/MR18/1865/ 1 /S.A' (#UF3-3; Gang '1' sideways) largely superb b/s on cover to Adelaide, Rouletted 2d (a bit oxidised) & largely fine strike of 20mm unframed 'TRURO/S-A' cds (rated RRR), no arrival b/s. Rated RRRRR: the later & vastly superior of only two recorded strikes, and the only one with Gang '1'. [Unrecorded by Tony Presgrave]
