Postally used group comprising Stamp Statute 3d mauve with Ballarat duplex (rare but faults), Large Stamp Duty 1d brown pair, 1/-, 2/6d, 3/- drab, 4/-, 5/- maroon/yellow, 5/- rosine on piece, 6/- pair, £1 x5 including on registered piece & a pair, also 1/6d orange & 2/- blue-green on registered pieces, Cat £1000. Very scarce group.

1884 Stamp Statute Wmk '2' 2/- SG 217 (creased), Wmk V/Crown 1d with the Watermark Upright SG 220a & 5/- SG 227, and '½d./HALF' on 1d SG 234 x2, large-part o.g., Cat £1280. Scarce to rare (the 5/-).
1884-96 Large Stamp Duty 10/- grey-green & £2 blue pair - a very rare multiple - plus Naish 4d all tied to piece by 'REGISTERED/AP6/98/MELBOURNE' cds, red registration line erased from the first £2. An extremely rare & significant item that proves postal usage of the £2.
It must be stressed that Gibbons prices for all values above 5/- are for CTO examples and that not a single genuine postally used example of the £1/5/-, £1/10/-, 35/-, nor any value above £2 has been recorded. A postally used £2 single sold at our auction of 28.11.2016 for $504.
1885-95 Wmk '33' 3d bistre-yellow as SG 299b but with the Watermark Sideways, 'R'-in-circle cancel. An unrecognised rarity. Ex Colonel Harrie Evans. [Unlisted by Gibbons and unrecorded by Geoff Kellow for 3d in any watermark]
1885 'STAMP DUTY' Overprints selection comprising 3d brown-orange x2, 3d dull brownish orange x3, 4d rose-red x2 & 1895 reprint x3, 1/- & 1895 reprint with the Watermark Inverted x5 including a marginal pair, and 2/-, all mint with large-part o.g.; and postally used 3d x5, 4d x4, 1/- x2 & 2/- x2; Cat £1500 (not including the reprints).
