Plate Number singles comprising De La Rue 1d '4' from top & 8d '11' from base and 2½d on 9d '50' from base, also '2½d' on 9d upper-right corner block of 4 with '7', large-part o.g. (Qty 7)
Ninepence Blue selection on stockcards including 1903 Type 9d indigo SG 242g (but the stated ultramarine SG 242f is not the right shade), 1906-13 Crown/A pair with Double Perforations at Base (not listed in ACSC), Compound Perf 12½ & 11½ SG 256b two pairs (one mis-identified as SG 256d) etc. Good lot for the specialist but close inspection is clearly required. Accumulation partly sorted in packets etc including a stocksheet of Chalons, annotated 1d & 2d study including 'ONE PENNY' on 2d 'JBC' Monogram block of 4, a few Franks cutouts, some postmark interest likely. (Qty 100s)
1853-54 Courier Plate II 4d orange as SG 10 but on Vertically Laid Paper, cut-to-shape, a couple of tiny black flecks on the face, unused, Cat £5000. RPSofL Certificate (1948). [Gibbons state in a footnote under SG 12 that stamps on laid paper are from proof sheets]
1855 Large Star 4d deep blue SG 17, four large to huge margins with parts of the adjoining units at right and left, crisp BN cancel clear of the face, Cat £100. A remarkable stamp: possibly the finest single in existence.
1870-91 Sidefaces 1880-91 'TAS' Wmk 1d pink Imperforate Pair SG 164a, large-part o.g., Cat £225.
