Collection on Scott pages with Half-Lengths 1d x2 2d x3 & 3d, Woodblocks Imperf 2/-, Laureates 8d orange mint & 5/- blue/yellow, Large Stamp Duty £1 £1/5/- £1/10/- & £2 all CTO, both Charity sets mint, KEVII £1 mint & CTO and £2 CTO, mint Postage Dues Blue & Claret 2/- & 5/- and Scarlet & Green 2/- & 5/-, etc, condition variable but many are fine to very fine.
Handy leftovers with lots of Laureates including 2d "gutter" block of 6, 9d on 10d x7, 10d grey x2 and 5/- blue & red group including a pair & a block of 4, also an envelope of about 100 stamps with Double Perfs mostly 1d or 2d values but a few better ones noted, etc, generally good to very fine. Two cartons of Max Watson's notes re postmarks, perfins, municipalities etc, also photocopies including of his exhibits, etc. No reserve!
1854-55 Woodblocks'TOO LATE' 6d x9 - one with 'TOO/LATE' slightly tilted & misplaced which is quite unusual - and 'REGISTERED' 1/- x9, all with full margins - some close in places - including a few unusually large examples, generally fine to very fine, Cat £4050.
1867-81 Laureates4d annotated study on album pages, lots of shades & perfs, mostly plated examples including a few pairs & a strip of 3, some postmark interest. Ex Max Watson.
1884 Stamp StatuteV/Crown £1 purple/yellow Perf 12½ SG 229bb, well centred, large-part o.g., Cat £2750. A rare stamp. [Neither Francis Kiddle nor Hugh Freeman had an unused example of the £1. This is better centred than Les Molnar's stamp that sold at the Prestige auction of 29.6.2012 for $2760]
1884-96 Large Stamp Duty1d, 6d, 1/-, 2/-, 4/- vermilion, 5/- maroon/yellow, £1, £1/5/-, £1/10/-, £2 & 45/- all with the spectacular Type 13 script 'Specimen' handstamp in black (1d 1/- 2/- & £2) or violet, some with the perfs trimmed on one or two sides, large-part o.g. An extremely rare group, of which only one example of each is recorded in private collections by Kellow Turner & McCredie. [Bill McCredie's 1/6d, 3/- maroon/blue, 6/-, 10/- brown/pink, 15/- mauve - straight edge - & 35/- sold for an aggregate of $8395]
