1861 cover to Scotland "Per Jeddo" with Emblems 2d brown-lilac Vertically Laid Paper SG 69a horizontal strip of 3, BN '1' & Melbourne b/s of JU20/61, Carlisle transit b/s of AU22/1861 & part 'SANQUHAR' arrival b/s, flap faults. Carried per "Jeddo", departed Melbourne 26/6/1861, arrived Galle 16/7/1861; "Candia", departed Galle 18/7/1861, arrived Suez 5/8/1861; then per "Delta", departed Alexandria 9/8/1861, arrived Southampton 21/8/1861. 1861 cover to "Victoria Hotel/Lower Huntley" with Emblems 1d yellow-green SG 98/a single & horizontal strip of 3 with Pre-Printing Paper Crease tied by very fine Melbourne duplex, superb oval 'SANDHURST' transit b/s & largely fine strike of the rare oval 'HUNTLEY' arrival d/s unusually on the face, repaired opening tear on the reverse. Huntley PO opened 1/6/1860; renamed Huntly c.1867.
1863 Macartney Correspondence double-rate cover to Queensland with Emblems 2d dull reddish lilac SG 101 vertical strip of 3 & Redrawn 6d grey-black SG 107b tied by Melbourne duplex, light 'ROCKHAMPTON' arrival b/s, a couple of minor defects & light overall soiling. Ex Rodney Perry & Ken Barelli.
1885 OHMS cover with 'VICTORIAN RAILWAYS' heading locally used with 'COMMISSIONER OF RAILWAYS' Frank h/s in blue.
1888 OHMS cover with 'Centennial International Exhibition Melbourne 1888' imprint at lower-left, to "Australian Court/CIEM" with 'CHIEF SECRETARY' Frank h/s in purple & Melbourne duplex, superb strike of the framed 'EXHIBITION/OC11/88/MELBOURNE' arrival b/s (the ERD of only two recorded strikes). Mail to any type of exhibition is much scarcer than mail from such events. The Exhibition opened 1/8/1888 & closed 31/1/1889. PO opened 16/7/1888 & closed early-1889.
