Selection with unused x2 (one with margins just clear to good, the other with margins just clear to large), and used x5 with full margins - one a large stamp but with a fault at the top - including one with a fair void grid cancel in red; Cat £3575; also an unconvincing rouletted example offered "as is". (Qty 7)
PLATE PROOF: 1d imperforate plate proof in black on ungummed unwatermarked wove paper, a marginal example from the base of the sheet, margins good to very large. Superb!
ISSUED STAMPS - IMPERFORATE: 1d black SG 1, margins close to good, a little rubbed at the top, unused, Cat £1100. An attractive example of Western Australia's first stamp.
ISSUED STAMPS - IMPERFORATE: 1d black SG 1, margins just clear - at lower-right - to good, exceptional impression, unused, Cat £1100. Ex "Sovereign". BPA Certificate (2008). [Almost the equal of Dr Cecil Walkley's very fine example that sold for $1552]
ISSUED STAMPS - IMPERFORATE: 1d black SG 1, margins good to large, superb 15-bars '2' cancel of Perth, Cat £275. Superb! [One of the finest used examples we have seen]
ISSUED STAMPS - IMPERFORATE: 1d black SG 1 vertical strip of 3, margins close to good, void grid cancels in black, Cat £825+. Rare multiple. BPA Certificate (2003) mentions a "corner crease at upper-left" that neither we nor our vendor can see. [Multiples larger than pairs are rarely seen. Vertical strips are scarcer than horizontal strips]
ISSUED STAMPS - IMPERFORATE: 1d black [R2/8] with "Double-Tailed Swan" (diagonal black line extending from the bird's rump) SG 1var, close even margins except at lower-right where just shaved, minor central thin, unused, Cat £1100+. BPA Certificate (1985) states "Major Re-Entry". [The "Double-Tailed Swan" also occurred on positions R9/10 & 10/2. Dr Cecil Walkley had no unused example of the variety]
ISSUED STAMPS - IMPERFORATE: 1d black "Double-Tailed Swan" being the second unit in a horizontal pair, margins close to large, minor scissor-cut at the base between the units, the variety unit with a minor thin at the upper-right corner, superb void grid cancels in black, Cat £550+.
ROULETTED: 1d black SG 2 rouletted about 8, clear of the design on all sides, unused, Cat £3250. Rare. [The rouletting is unconvincing so the stamp is offered at a modest estimate "as is"]
REPRINTED DIE PROOFS: 1d defaced die proofs in black & in indigo on white paper, and in deep blue & in green on cream paper, large margins. (Qty 4)
