1880 (Jan) town letter with 1d yellow-ochre SG 70 tied by BN '8' of Fremantle, unusually with no cds, minor blemishes. [With the original letter-of-demand dated "Jan 14 80" & signed "Geo Parker" for £1200 owing for a cargo of guano (bird pooh!). [George Parker was a Fremantle solicitor between 1874 & 1881. He was on the WA Cricket Association Committee & President of Swan River Football Club.]
1894 local cover with scarce franking of Internal Revenue 2d lilac SG F12 (a very fine stamp; Cat £80 x10+ on cover) tied by Perth duplex.
1910 registered to USA with ½d & 5d tied by Geraldton cds, 'R'-in-oval cachet & red/white 'GERALDTON' R label (torn at L/L) alongside New York transit & Chicago arrival b/s of MAR/1/1910, couple of minor aging marks.
REGISTRATION ENVELOPES: 1900 McCorquordale Ltd linen-lined formular issue (150x98mm) Pope #REF2 to New Jersey with scarce franking of Postal Fiscals 6d cancelled with 'R'-in-oval, oval 'REGISTERED/6DEC1900/ PERTH WA' d/s in violet at U/L, New York transit b/s of 1-17/1901, unusually fine for these rare items. [Brian Pope recorded six sizes as having been supplied, but noted only five examples across three of those sizes. Margaret Hamilton's three different sizes sold at the Macray Watson auction of 30.3.1999 for $3740, $3740 & $6050 respectively. The 2002 catalogue values of $1500 to $2000 only are therefore grossly understated]
