Internal Revenue 1881 hand-drawn artist's essay for an embossing die for cheques, in violet ink on tracing paper affixed to piece of card from the De La Rue day book. Unique and lovely. [See Dzelme at page 112. The die had three blanks for the date to be inserted, as was the British practice, these drawn-in as '10/11 81'. A special item for the Bird collector]
