Like most firms, Prestige Philately has a rather technical, legalistic set of terms for doing business (see below). Unlike most firms, our Vendor Terms are designed to benefit both parties, not just the auction house. And, unlike most firms, our terms are simple and easy to understand.

Our Vendor Terms can be summed up in a single sentence: You give us the responsibility to market your material, we do the job as professionally as possible, and charge you a fair price for doing so.

Unlike other auction firms, we are paid purely on performance. We charge you a simple, no nonsense, flat 10% commission rate on sales. The better the sale price, the more we both benefit. We earn more in commissions, and you get a better final result. And if we fail to achieve a sale, we don’t deserve to get paid. So, no sale, no charge.

At Prestige Philately we don’t charge you any "hidden extras". NO lotting fees; NO minimum value penalties; NO unsold lot fees; NO charge for illustrations (and they’re all in colour); NO advertising levy; NO insurance "contribution".

Another major difference between us and other firms is that we don’t discount our commission rate. Other auction houses routinely offer lower fees to get your business. Of course, that doesn’t tell the whole story. What other fees are you going to be slugged with? And if they aren’t being paid their full commission you can be confident they are "cutting corners".

It’s the old story: you get what you pay for. Pay a discounted commission and you should expect lesser standards: fewer lots, because that’s less work; lower estimates, to ensure a sale at any price; fewer illustrations, perhaps none at all; little or no advertising or promotion of your material.

Discounting is, quite simply, poor business practice.

Specifically, you are assured of professional lotting and describing, sensible estimates, excellent presentation of your material in world-class full-colour catalogues and, finally, outstanding results.
